Notes :   * -  Left prescribed course at Antietam, went through Sharpsburg, along Sharpsburg Pike to Lappans, and in to St. James School via Lappan's and College Roads -- Total 42.9 miles but officially only 27.3 where the 3 hikers left the course without returning. This group also went astray at Sandy Hook by taking Sandy Hook Bridge across the Potomac, where spotted by the lead group as they strolled along the wrong side of the river and signalled to backtrack across the bridge and pickup.
